This is magnificently isolated, rustic, self-catering cabin … overlooking the pristine coastline between Struisbaai and Arniston, is situated up in the dunes bording De Mond Nature Reserve.
Surrounded by 600 hectares of un-occupied fynbos and milkwood thickets, the cabin offers amazing peace and solitude, idyllic birding, fantastic walks, surf fishing, trail running and off-road bike rides for nature enthusiasts.
A 1km walk through the fynbos and dunes brings you to the long isolated stretch of beach, 3km from “De Mond”, the mouth of the Heuningnes River – one of the best kept secrets of the Western Cape.

The Cabin borders De Mond Nature Reserve and permits needs to be obtained from Cape Nature to access the beach We obtain the permit on your behalf. Should the booking be cancelled once the permit has been obtained (5 days before date of arrival) – you are liable for costs incurred.
Smoking is NOT is permitted in the Fishing Cabin and guests need to be aware of the potential of fire hazards with cigarettes
