The simple, thatched self-catering cottage was originally built in the early 1900’s for the retiring owners at that time. The cottage lies in a area of natural fynbos surrounded by agricultural lands. It is out of sight from the main homestead and the farm accommodation, providing privacy and peace! It is only 2km from De Mond Nature Reserve, which is one of the Western Cape’s best-kept secrets!
If you just feel like chilling for the weekend, you will find the cottage very relaxed and comfortably furnished. The views of the farmlands, sea and sunset will calm your soul.

The Vlei Café Cottage was recently renovated and was used as a farm stall in the December holidays. It is now used as accommodation during the year. It is a quaint rustic-style farm cottage, open plan inside, with a small kitchenette and bedroom living area.
Overlooking the seasonal wetland or “vlei” and farmlands, you have beautiful views … you will see why the farm got its name with flamingos, coots, herons but to name a few bird species, making the vlei their home.
Getting away to the farm and the “nothingness” of country life, is a real break from the rush of the city. … slowing down, is what its all about!
